When God calls us to be faithful

Good Morning Pastor!

When God calls us to be faithful, He did not intend for it to be a part time job! Those are impacting words for any believer and especially for pastors today. Be encouraged, your faithfulness is not going unnoticed in heaven. God asks us to do our best and He matches it with His best!

In these days of church scandals it is somewhat numbing to be a pastor or clergy in any capacity. The mistrust that is circulating against people in ministry is going to have a long reaching effect on the church. I have often been a critique of the harsh treatment that pastors who fall have received by their denomination officials and other pastors. But things are appearing to be getting out of hand. We have to do something to protect the integrity of our churches and our pastors.

The ministry of the pastor may have never been tougher than it is today. But I suspect we have overlooked the difficulty of those of previous generations. Although sin and immorality is all around us today through media, there were still people in the Bible days as there was in the 1800 and 1900’s. Where you have people you have sin and immorality.

We must build a “hedge” (Do a Word study in the scriptures) around our churches, our families and our ministries. The problem with hedges is that they take time to grow and they need to be kept up. They either have to planted from seedlings or transplanted giving you immediate protection. If you have not developed a hedge of Godly people around you, do so now. If you have to grow it from seedlings I suggest that you go out and find people who will be a praying and consulting hedge in your life until your seedlings mature. In other words pastor, we all need accountability groups and we need them now!

We must become vulnerable to that which we trust to become strong against that which we know we cannot trust!

In His Delight,
