Monday Morning Pastor’s Letter: January 14, 2002

Good Morning Pastor!

Take a deep breath and enjoy the presence of a good and gracious God who, in spite of each of our shortcomings and goings, loves us. Sometimes in the busy schedule of the week we fail to take the time to just let God touch us, perhaps like you need to be touched this morning. So, take a few moments right now and commune with this Friend who is closer than anyone on earth to a pastor. And I believe He is especially close on Monday mornings!

If you feel a little discouraged this morning, don’t be. God is up to something good. I know there are plenty of “Monday Morning Pastors” out there who critique your every word and move that you made yesterday. Although they mean well, most of them just don’t get it. Until they have walked in those shoes that step behind the pulpit on Sunday morning, they will never get it. And here is what they don’t get:

“Those shoes are so big that only God Himself could fill them properly and no pastor in the history of the church has ever looked for or needed a larger size!”

So as you reflect this morning on your Sunday and begin to focus on next Sunday don’t try to fill the shoes, just make sure that you wear them up to the pulpit!
