This Sunday at 2 PM our church is having a special dedication service for the building. It has been a long seven months of remodeling. But when one compares that to remodeling a life, it is a relatively short time. A changed person is a lifetime project and we should be patient not only with others but also ourselves. What may seem like an eternity is merely a lifetime!

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-of whom I am the worst. 16 But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Perhaps you’ve noticed the tragedy in New Orleans on the news. Actually, everyone has heard of it! If you are considering what all this is about perhaps it is time to go to the Bible and see what God’s Word has to say about the last days. I am not a “doomsday prophet” but I do know that all Christians should be heeding the signs of the times and consider the second coming of Christ more seriously than in the past. Today, Jesus return is one day closer than yesterday.

-1 Thess 4:13-18 NIV
Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage each other with these words.
