Usual Tax Day Delayed
We all get to pay some income tax. For most it always seems to be more than our share. But to run without a tax system is the suicide of any free democracy in any country around the world. Believe it or not, it is a great privilege to pay taxes to support the expenses of a nation, especially the united State of America. This year there is a three-day delay for payment, but the due date is coming.
It’s the same with tithing and giving to the church. It is a privilege to give money to the Lord’s work. It clears the way for people to be evangelized around the world and we all get to have the privilege of giving to the Lord’s work on a regular basis. Or do we?
Some people do not ever give money to the Lord’s work or only give on very, very rare occasions. So today I want to encourage you to give your tithe to the local church you attend or another in your town who is doing the Lord’s work. God gives us the privilege of doing that and honors us as a result.
Some ask, “How much should I give?” A tithe is the same as 10% and that is the starting point of giving tithes and offerings to God. You will feel so much better supporting the work that God is doing.
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. -Malachi 3:10
