“God can’t steer a ship that’s not moving!”
Prov. 3:13

“God is more interested in what we are becoming than what we are doing.”

“The church today has become so “inclusive’ that the message has become a mile wide… but only an inch deep!”

“I’ve been to the mountaintop… only to discover that God was working in the valleys!”

“If I have to choose between feeling pain and feeling nothing at all… I choose pain!”
It’s a blessing to be able to hurt!”

Children aged 6-10 outgrow their shoes every 84 days. Children will also grow spiritually at a high rate if we take the time to teach them and constantly give them bigger “spiritual shoes” to grow into! Yet, too often a very small amount of the church budget goes towards Christian education and children’s ministries.

We live in a day in age when having an analyst has become fashionable. Frankly, we have created a lifestyle that has made it difficult for people to cope. As a result, the counseling offices are full… BUT THE ALTARS ARE EMPTY!

Along I-35 there is a large oak tree standing all by itself in the middle of a farmers field. It’s trunk is twisted and it’s branches show signs of enduring some tremendous storms. Had this tree always had the protection of the other trees, it would have been straight and attractive… but small!
It seems there are times when God plants us in the middle of a field without apparent protection from the ELEMENTS. We may be a little weather checked and bowed… but we grow!
Remember, life experiences either make us bitter or better! That decision is totally up to us!”

“When you’ve come to the end of your rope…LOOK UP!
The most important thing is WHO IS HOLDING THE OTHER END!”
Phil 3:12

“How big is God? When I was a small boy I used to look at the moon and, if I looked long and hard, it seemed like I could almost see Jesus face. He was so big! I am embarrassed to think how small I have seen him since I ‘grew up!’
How big is God? In the words of Stewart Hamlin; “He’s big enough to rule this mighty universe, yet small enough to live within my heart!”

“Wealth is measured by what you have left… after you lose everything!”

“A true measure of character is not who you are when you are around other people, but who you are when you are alone, and it’s just you and God.”

“A.W. Tozier prayed in earnest one day that he wanted to love God more than anyone in his generation. God quickly answered him …”Then you will have to suffer!”
Perhaps we should all be so motivated. How much do you want to love God? Picking up my cross and following Him has never impressed me as a trip to “Fantasy Island” … but I’ve never loved him better than today!”

“Just because you slip and fall….it doesn’t mean that you have to slide all the way down the mountain!”

How are you at taking tests? Do you pass them? Spiritual tests can be devastating. Just ask Peter! Often it seems like we make a practice out of FAILING the tests. I have come to this conclusion: Passing a spiritual test isn’t always whether you passed or failed in action but rather whether you are willing to continue your walk with God AFTER THE TEST! Peter is a great example as he continued following Jesus after bitterly denying Christ.
You too… never give up your walk with God… REGARDLESS!
IT’S ALWAYS TOO SOON TO QUIT!

It’s not the critic who counts,
not the man who points out where the strong man stumbled,
or the doer of deeds could have done better.
No, the credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena.
Who’s face is marred with dust and sweat and blood.
Who strives valiantly, errs
and comes up short again and again and again.
Who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions
and spends himself in a worthy cause.
Who at best knows the triumph of high achievement
and who at worst if he fails at least fails while daring greatly
so that his place shall never ever, ever be
with those cold and timid souls
who know neither victory nor defeat.
-Teddy Roosevelt

It has been said; “Christians don’t tell lies, they just sing them!”
Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus… Trust and obey… Jesus is the sweetest name I know… We’ve a story to tell to the nations… Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine… There is power in the blood… Victory in Jesus… and more favorites!
In worship (worth-ship) this Sunday, let the songs be a testimony of your heart… and life!

What’s the most noticeable thing missing in homes today? Fathers!
Next most noticeable thing missing? Mothers and Fathers praying.
Next most noticeable thing missing? Mothers and Fathers praying for their children.
Next most noticeable thing missing? Mothers and Fathers praying with their children.
Next most noticeable thing missing? Mothers and Fathers praying with each other!
Is there anything noticeably missing at your house?

“The struggle people encounter in life is not the trouble their in, but…the trouble that’s in them!”

“Jimmy Carter once said; “If you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enought evidence to convict you?”
Considering the state of the home and church today, one might rather ask… would there be any evidence? ”

MONEY IS WORTH MORE THAN LIFE?
A number of years ago a man who attended a church I was pastoring received an 8 year prison sentence for fraud. That same day, in the same courtroom, a man who had scalded his girlfriends retarded daughter to death in a bathtub received a 3 years sentence to prison.

We have all been asked; What do you want for Christmas?; What do you want for your birthday?; If you could have anything, what would you want? Dream a little? What would you want?
When asking myself those questions I quickly discover that I need my ‘Wanter’ fixed! How is yours working?

Faith without works (deeds) is dead… and nobody has ever been saved by ‘dead faith!’
